Gym Bunnies and Admin Monkeys

Work has been manic. To be honest, as loathe as I am to admit it, being a manic admin monkey sort of quite suits me. For now. I like being busy and my previous role was starting to get me down and bore me, so that I felt quite demotivated and ended up spending quite a portion of the emailing my friends and writing blogs, towards the end. I would like a bit of respite in my current role, but I know this is an especially busy period, especially seeing as we've just lost two temps, so it should hopefully quieten down. Then I'll be able to learn some more varied stuff. I've realised that for all my laziness and laid-back attitude about things, I actually put high expectations and quite a lot of pressure on myself. It's probably worse because I haven't been feeling especially high in self esteem for some time, but I want to be good at what I do, even if it is just being an admin monkey. It's actually nice to feel a sense of motivation for a change.

I have also been going to the gym with workmates during my lunch break. I went twice last week, went yesterday and again today. Today, I went with Miss T, Shoulders and Gannet. Shoulders is apparently still trying to persuade Jumpers to join up. It's quite funny having this little crew of us going down there en masse. We don't work out together (although Shoulders keeps trying to persuade me to do free weights with them), but today me and Miss T went on the treadmills, then I did some weights machines while she worked the cross-trainer. My thighs were already aching from my 20 minute treadmill run yesterday. They are caning now, lol. I am feeling better for it, though. I still feel tired, but it's probably helping my overall health, my heart rate and my appetite.

I am on my way home now, feeling rather hungry and planning a soak in a hot bath to relax my aching muscles. I stopped in Dorothy Perkins at the station on my way home. They have some boots I've had my eye on and they had a 20% discount on everything today, so I took advantage of it. It would've been rude not to, right?

OK, so not a lot has changed necessarily, but the little shifts in activity are currently doing me some good. Roll on, Christmas! Can't wait for two blissful weeks off.
