As if this cold/flu virus/diptheria/ebola reindeer hadn't frazzled my few remaining functioning brain cells enough already, the remaining ones are now being stunned into inactivity by this bloomin' freezing chapola-mofola weather! Further to the pretty lil' snowflakes that fell on and off for most of yesterday, there is a blizzard predicted tonight. I say blizzard, but it's probably going to be little more than a light shower. The US gets blizzards, Canada gets blizzards, Russia and the rest of Eastern Europe get blizzards. Occasionally Scotland and the North of England get blizzards. London gets the odd snow shower and grinds to a pathetic halt. I'm not complaining. Flame Grilled said he was praying to get snowed in and he doesn't live that far from my part of town, so if the snow stops him getting in, I won't feel too bad if I'm stuck at home either. The hilarious thing is that it's our departmental Christmas lunch tomorrow and if the snow is as heavy as promised then virtually no-one will be able to go! Haha.
On that note, BlankFace came swanning round the office this afternoon with Double G, offering platters of muffins as a Christmas 'thank you' for all our 'hard work' this year. Er...a 'thank you' would have been paying me for the work I was actually doing all year and then not slapping me in the face by advertising my job at the higher pay rate once I'd left. But thanks, I'll take a blueberry guilt muffin if that's all we're getting.
I woke up this morning, still feeling groggy, but not having the almost-constant migraine I've had since Monday, at least not as bad. I was so excited to be feeling marginally less rough, that I got ready for work as quickly as I could, even though my brain wasn't working too speedily and I got to work at about 10.20. I did call them on the way to let them know; I think they were just happy I was coming in to be honest. Just a week to go. I'm still counting down.
