Rain On My Parade

This weather is starting to get me down. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. This weekend is a bank holiday weekend after all and we all know that an extra day off work virtually guarantees rain. It also guarantees severe engineering works on public transport, meaning you can’t actually go anywhere on that extra day off. But it’s MAY for goodness’ sake. That’s almost summer! Can’t we have at least a little glimpse of sun? I worked for nearly 3 years in an office with no external window or external ventilation. I used to lament not being able to see real sunlight, not knowing what the weather was like outside, not having fresh air whenever I liked. Now I have a nice big external window, one that actually opens, as wide as we like! Yes, we’re allowed fresh air! But now I get to stare at thick grey clouds forming overhead and brave students running for cover from the rain.

Okay, so I started writing this blog yesterday and I've since got my request. This morning I had to wear sunglasses - sunglasses! - on the way to work and the sun was so strong I actually felt a tiny bit too hot. Fast forward four hours and the heavens have released such a downpour that had I been caught in it, I probably wouldn't have needed to take a shower tonight. :o)
